Vintage Petitie Point Handbags--Achievement Trophies

This collection of Petite Point handbags, have  a story hidden within them.  After retirement I joined a ladies fraternal organization with ties to the Masonic Lodge The Order Of The Eastern Star.  When joining I saw that some ladies in their travels visiting other Chapters in Ontario had these lovely handbags which they carried with pride.   The story told to me was that back in the late 70's early 80's these handbags were presented to women who achieved a certain level of achievement were rewarded with one of these purses.

1929 Wedding Dress

                                          August 28, 1929

Clayton H Parkinson married Sarah Ann Hill

                                        Thornbury Ontario
This vintage wedding dress is in wonderful condition  and the Lyle stockings remain with the dress.  It appears that artificial flowers were sewn lightly to the dress to update it for use later. The veil that is with this dress is not the original but it is from the same era.   The dress is a cream colour and has some smoking around the bottom at the hip area. This keepsake was given to me by Mrs. Dorothy Russell of Clarksburg Ontario.

Vintage Tapestry Carpet Bags

These wonderful carpet bags remind me of an old castle.   There is some patina on the frames and I had used these bags for one of the Victorian costumes for the gaslight Tour, I also teamed one up with a early 40's suit. Looked great.

Black and silver sparkle shoes and clutch bag

This set I feel is from the 1960's.  The shoes are a combination of black gro-grain type material and silver sparkle. The label inside the shoe says "Eaton's".   This is like a cinderella slipper. Am I correct about the date of these beauties?.

Spectacles in Silver Case

I just had to show everyone these great vintage spectacles. I do not believe that the chain is original but they certainly do attract attention. I do not wear them often for fear of damaging them. Does anyone know the date of these wonderful opera type glasses.

Feathered and veiled Black 1940 hat

This hat is tremendous I love it.  I say it is from the 1940 but I am not 100% sure.  I have used this hat in a past fashion show and it does attract a lot of compliments.

1950 Springalator Heels

1950 Springalators
These are my ultimate keepsakes.  I wore these shoes in 1959 to my high school prom at Central Technical School in Toronto.  I felt like a real princess. They remain with their original shoe box.
